What is this “forceware” for NVIDIA, and why is updating drivers for computer necessary?

If everything is running flawless leave it alone. Updated drivers are good but they are mainly for to correct minor issues from previous releases. And at times give you a very slight increase in performance. Forceware is just the name of the particular driver for your graphics card.

Forceware is just the current “name” for their drivers. It used to be called “Detonator”.
Latest drivers may help improve performance as the driver writers optimize their code. It also fixes bugs or incompatibilities with certain games and whatnot. If you have problems, you’re always told to “update to latest drivers”. That’s why.

leave it be if there is nothing wrong with your system.
its just for fix certain bugs, incompatibility and minor issues.
update if you have problems.
