Forceware is just the current “name” for their drivers. It used to be called “Detonator”.
Latest drivers may help improve performance as the driver writers optimize their code. It also fixes bugs or incompatibilities with certain games and whatnot. If you have problems, you’re always told to “update to latest drivers”. That’s why.

leave it be if there is nothing wrong with your system.
its just for fix certain bugs, incompatibility and minor issues.
update if you have problems.
