Depends on what level of preformance you want. That is now a mid-level card.
The higher end cards will cost more, but preform better. I think the best proce/value right now is the Radeon HD 4850, and I can vouch for it. Cost me $209, and it is amazing.

Depends on ur budget……
If u can go upto rs 10,000 then u must go for nvidia 9600gt…
i think 8800 series is quite outdated now…
so in my opinion don’t go for the 8 series …
and i would strongly suggest u to go for nvidia only not for ati radeon etc.. since nvidia output is the best..
also u can go to the nvidia website nad checkout the performance of different graphic cards … and the games which can be run fluently..
here is the link.. this is for 8 series..
for 9 series..
Hope u will get all the info from here..

The 8800GT is pretty much the best deal right now- prices have come down to around $120, which is incredible performance for the price. Sure the 4850 is faster, but it’s also around $160. For someone who was considering a $100 card like a Geforce 9600GSO or Radeon 3850 to get a 8800GT for just $20 more… wow, big jump in performance..
There’s no point comparing cards in the $150 price range to those in the $300 and $500 ranges- they are different animals entirely. Many computers don’t have the PSU or cases to accomodate high-end cards like the GTX 280 or 9800GX2. Some people they need the best video card for around $300, others have a budget half that high.
By the way, a pair of 8800GTs in SLI mode beats a GTX 260, so does a single Radeon 4870.

that card is meh it will play all the games but never play anything higher then medium and sometimes not even medium but i would shell out some more money for a better card like the new radeon 4870 or if thats to much just go with a 8800 gt

The 8800GT is the best card for people who aren’t interested in spending $50 more for a Radeon 4850.
Ricky seems clueless, since the 8800GT is faster than the 9600GT! Entry-level x600 cards (7600,8600,9600) aren’t in the same class as midrange x800 cards- the series number doesn’t matter as much as the model. The 8800GTS destroys the 9800GT.
While ATI has the best-performing cards right now, it comes down to bang for the buck. very few people spend $500 or more on graphics cards, so the biggest sellers won’t be the GTX 280 or 4870×2.

Depends on your finances. Radeon 4850 good mid range card, comparable with the 8 series. 4870 top range and still at an affordable price and will knock the socks off 8/9 series. Radeon 4870×2, Fastest desk top gpu on the planet. The choice is yours:
